Founded in 2017 with a $200 million gift from Orange County philanthropists Susan and Henry Samueli, UCI Health Affairs is a first of its kind health science enterprise and is unique to Orange County, Calif. Together, the Susan & Henry Samueli College of Health Sciences and UCI Health form UCI Health Affairs, led by Vice Chancellor Steve Goldstein, MA, MD, PhD, FAAP. Susan & Henry Samueli College of Health Sciences is translating our tripartite mission to “discover, teach, heal,” into the diverse healthcare workforce of the future and groundbreaking scientific discoveries. Creating a first-of-its-kind alliance across health disciplines, the college comprises the School of Medicine, the Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing, the recently launched School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, the future School of Population & Public Health (scheduled to be accredited in 2021), the Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute, and research units focused on cancer, clinical translational science, precision health and stem cells. Under supervision, the Classroom Support Technologist provides audio/visual and computer support for Smart Classrooms, lecture halls, computer labs, conference rooms, etc. supporting the multiple College of Health Sciences stakeholders. Completes production jobs and tasks that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving procedural issues. Duties include performing routine and emergency maintenance, troubleshooting and first and second level diagnostics for classroom systems. Additionally, ensures that classrooms, lecture halls, computer labs, conference rooms, etc. are clean and set up based on client requirements, including ensuring that audio-visual equipment is operational.

Total Compensation:

$31.57 - $43.65 (Hourly Rate) Expected Pay Range within the Full Salary Range $31.57 - $43.65 (Hourly Rate)

Required:

Minimum one (1) year experience working in IT support role with BA/BS in IT related field OR zero (0) years’ experience working in IT support role with MA/MS in IT related field. • Knowledge of University policies, procedures and practices preferred.

Outstanding inter-personal and customer service skills. Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with equipment users of various competency. Follow up information gathering, and communication is often necessary. Must be organized and have good time-management skills. The ability to handle multiple tasks at once and methodically keep track of equipment and service requests is imperative. Must be detail oriented. Information comes to us in many forms and from many sources, and the relevant details must be gathered and then input correctly for tracking, billing, and equipment programming. Demonstrated ability to utilize various computer manuals and online documentation to diagnose problems. Working knowledge of various operating systems and office software. Work is skilled in nature, requiring independent judgment using well developed CTS guidelines. Extensive knowledge of audio/visual equipment, multimedia, and personal computers and the skill to set up, operate and troubleshoot a wide variety of equipment and systems. Includes programming support for classrooms systems using Extron GUI Configurator and Extron Global Configurator3. Demonstrated ability to monitor various AV systems. Knowledge of software and hardware functionality according to defined procedures for both PC and Mac.
