RICHMOND COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY

THE ROLE
The Economic Crime Analyst will report directly to the Forensic Accountant in the Economic Crimes Bureau and be responsible but not limited to the following duties:
LOAN FORGIVENESS:
The federal government provides student loans forgiveness through its Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PLF) to all qualifying public service employees. Working with the Staten Island District Attorney’s Office qualifies you as a public service employee, which forgives the remaining balance on your direct loans after you’ve reached a certain number of qualifying payments (most people use this to forgive school loans)! The Economic Crime Analyst will report directly to the Forensic Accountant in the Economic Crimes Bureau and be responsible but not limited to the following duties:
- The Economic Crime Analyst may be called upon to testify in court regarding analysis performed during investigations;
- Review and analyze information gathered during criminal investigations as well as utilizing complex databases and analytical software to prepare spreadsheets, graphs, and reports to support attorneys and law enforcement;
- Other duties as assigned.
- Analyze data to trace funds through a variety of accounts;
- Ability to review voluminous financial records and to advise or assist in the investigation of alleged fraud and other financial crimes.
- Perform analytical work in the compilation and examination of complex data in criminal investigations involving money laundering, larceny, and other financial crimes;

1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.

Preferred Skills
- Detail-oriented while meeting competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Two years of relevant work experience in the accounting, finance, or law enforcement field
- Excellent verbal, written and professional interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong record keeping skills and detailed oriented.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, from an accredited college
- Excellent verbal, written, research and professional interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in analytical software and/or experience using Microsoft Office programs, and Excel.
- Self-starter with good creative and critical thinking skills and a structured analytical approach.
