Job Description
EARLY CHILDHOOD SOCIAL WORKER


Qualifications:
Required: Master’s Degree in Social Work

FLSA: Exempt
Salary Schedule: Per Approved Social Worker Salary Schedule
Direct Report: Coordinator of Early Childhood
Terms of Employment: 9 month
Eligible for emergency telework: With Supervisor approval

Purpose: Facilitate/coordinate services for students and families.

Essential Job Functions:
  • To "telework" when requested by the District.
  • Attend work in a regular, reliable and punctual manner.
  • Other assigned duties.
Identify and assess students’ needs
  • Identify and reduce attendance barriers
  • Administer Student Assistance Survey
  • Home visits
  • McKinney-Vento liaison for assigned building(s)
  • Facilitate conflict mediation – student, family &/or school personnel
  • Conduct psycho/social assessments
  • Facilitate S.O.S curriculum and survey
  • Provide crisis intervention
  • Serve as student and family advocate
  • Provide individual counseling for chronic ongoing issues
  • Administer mental health assessments

Make appropriate referrals
  • Create and facilitate small groups
  • Oversee and distribute Campus Cupboard and Clothes Closet Items
  • Make referrals to community agencies
Collaborate with outside agencies
  • Participate in community meetings, when appropriate
  • Utilize community organizations for student needs

Provide Case Management and RE-Entry Assistance
  • Provide appropriate follow up with students
  • Assist with students re-entering school from outside placements and/or in-district transfers
  • Other duties as assigned
