Job Title: Drone Operator

Location: Seattle, WA 98108

Duration: 06 Months Contract (Potential Temp to Perm)

Payrate: $35/hr. - $36/hr.

Shift: 1st Shift (8 AM - 5 pm); Monday - Friday

This is a Drone Operator Safety Officer role. (SO). Aide in testing by watching specific parameters (like voltage or altitude) and maintain situational awareness of what is happening while operator is looking at drone. This position is responsible for all safety aspects of field operation in a flight operations crew deployed around the Seattle, WA area.

• Solid knowledge of networks including Ethernet, TCP/IP, and Windows Server networking.
• Experience handling and charging Li Po batteries.
• The SO should also monitor the drone, environment and airspace for any off-nominal drone behavior or hazards that may have entered the operating area.
• This includes inputting specific values (i.e., wind speeds, temp, lux, etc.) into the interface, starting and stopping the capture for collections.
• Contract duration is 6 months. Possible extension at the end of 6 months based on business needs and successful employee performance.
• Experience supporting Macintosh OS X (10.4 & upwards) desirable.
• Responsibilities include the timely resolution of issues affecting drone airworthiness, and successful flight operations in a fast-paced team.
• Experience supporting Windows XP/7 and Server operating systems in a managed desktop environment.
• 3-6 years relevant work experience.
• Basic working knowledge of Linux/UNIX systems (Red Hat preferable) at a user level.
• At any time during the operations the SO find something to be uncomfortable or unsafe they should escalate their concerns to their peer (OIC) and their manager.
• Detailed knowledge of basic computer concepts, PC hardware and software troubleshooting, and workstation (desktop/laptop) hardware.
• Insist on the highest standards from self and others.
• Flexible and agile candidate open to fast paced and meticulous operational op tempo is preferred.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Although the Operator in Command (OIC) is responsible for the overall flight the SO is also held accountable for cross-checking the checklist and equipment being used to ensure the operations remains safe.
• Additional vendor administrator level certifications preferred, especially Apple ACMT/ACSP and Cisco CCNA.
• Ability to maintain Customer Focus, stay motivated and be proactive.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Microsoft MCSA/MCSE desirable.
• Must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
• This is not a pilot in command position.
• Drone industry operational experience.
• The SO also will be responsible for helping with inspecting equipment and or filling pos-flight / end of day paperwork.
• BS Degree in computer science or combination of education and relevant experience.
• The SO is responsible for operating the payload through an interface on a work provided laptop.
• The Safety Officer (SO) is part of a two-person team (Operator in Command (OIC / Pilot) and SO).
• Current Part 107 certification required.
