Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for the following: Other duties may be assigned.

• Deliver messages and items, such as documents, and packages, between office, dry-dock and departments.
• Check with office after completed deliveries, in order to confirm deliveries and collections and to receive instructions for other deliveries.
• Record information, such as items received and delivered and recipients' responses to messages.
• Be able to load and unload equipment, material and supplies.
• Organize and maintain inventory items at pick up to ensure requested material is correct prior to delivery.
• Plan and follow the most efficient routes for delivering goods.
• Walk, drive vehicles, or use public conveyances in order to reach destinations to deliver messages or materials.
• Load vehicles with listed goods, ensuring goods are loaded correctly and taking precautions with hazardous goods.

Required Education & Experience:

• Have and maintain a valid states driver’s license.
• High School Diploma or six months to one year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CDL – Required
• TWIC Card - Required

Working Conditions:

• Must wear hearing, eye, head protection and proper PPE.
• Some climbing and lifting (70 lbs.) involved.
• Open-air conditions such as noisy, hot, cold, etc.
• Loading and Unloading equipment (70lbs.) involved.

Necessary Equipment Operation:

• Operate machinery such as automobile, trucks, trailers, and forklifts.

Special Skills:

• Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish - a plus)
• Ability to change directives while still being mindful of other task.
• Maintaining composure under pressure.
