Job Description
POSITION: DOOR ATTENDANT


FLSA DESIGNATION: NON-EXEMPT


POSITION REPORTS TO: RESTAURANT MANAGER


SALARY RANGE: $24 PER HOUR


POSITION PURPOSE:


Greet and welcome arriving guest as they enter the venue. Assist both arriving and departing guests with opening and closing the entrance door.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:


  • Answer questions and offer assistance giving accurate information regarding outlet hours, other services, directions to local attractions or function rooms, car rentals, airline shuttle service, etc.
  • The ability to ascertain a guest’s satisfaction and handle any problems which may arise and informing a manager of the problem and how it was resolved.
  • The ability to maintain traffic flow to allow the entrance accessibility ensuring ample space for guest.
  • The ability to respond properly in any location emergency or safety situation.
  • Listen and respond to inquiries using a positive, clear speaking voice.
  • The ability to report any accidents immediately, no matter how minor, to a Manager.
  • The ability to move from door post to other areas throughout the facility in response to guest needs.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of baggage into and out of automobiles and summon taxis upon request.
  • Welcome guests to the facility with a sincere smile. The ability to greet each guest promptly, courtesy, graciously with eye contact and good posture


OTHER:


  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the organization. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
  • Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Cipriani rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the facilities. Employees who violate rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.


SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:


In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions:


  • Maintain an alert and attentive demeanor at all times in addition to remaining calm during periods of heavy business volumes.
  • The ability to perform other tasks or project as assigned by Cipriani Management.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all entrance areas and around the venue.
  • The ability to answer the entrance telephone and provide clear and accurate information to guests and employees.


SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:


  • The ability to communicate clear directions to nearby local attractions, facilities, and services.
  • Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately and safely.
  • Knowledge of the city, particularly tourist attractions.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.


PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:


  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space and to reach other locations of the property on a timely basis.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
  • Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by facility environmental systems; however, it will be required to work outside during the course of the day to assist with baggage and transportation.
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
  • Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.


QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:


Education: High school or equivalent education preferred.


Experience Required: No prior experience necessary


Licenses or Certificates: Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits.


Grooming: All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Cipriani standards.


Electronic Devices: Personal cellular phones, pagers, I-pods, radio/cd players, headsets and/or other electronic devices are not permitted to be worn, carried or used while on duty.
