Right now our 38th Street Store in Tacoma, WA store is seeking a Part Time Donation Attendant!

Salary: $15.74 Per Hour

Position Summary: As a member of the Goodwill production team you will be responsible for processing and sorting the donations provided by our community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Donation Attendant responsibilities include the following and other duties as assigned:

  • Keeps donation area both inside/outside areas clean, neat and free of debris at all times
  • Assists in the unloading/loading of trucks and/or trailers
  • Accepting donations from donors and issues receipts as necessary
  • Training on Gaylord and pallet use will be provided

Customer Service

  • Must possess exceptional customer service skills, greets donors and carries donations from the donor's vehicle to the center and gives donor a receipt if requested.

Determining Acceptable Donations

  • Exercises good judgement in determining which donations are acceptable while communicating that decision to the customer effectively and politely as possible.

Record Keeping

  • Maintains all required records and delivers them to supervisors or drivers as scheduled.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Cultural Competency: Demonstrate cultural competence; specifically, awareness, attitude, knowledge, willingness and skills to work effectively with a culturally and demographically diverse population.

Language Skills: Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Not required for this position.

Computer Skills: Not required for this position.

Other Skills and Abilities: Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of a Donation Attendant.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Not required for this position.

Other Qualifications: Self-motivated; resourceful, creative; high integrity; problem solver; looks to resolve issues; positive can-do approach; and ability to build effective working relationships.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
