Under general supervision of the Domestic Violence (DV) Supervisor or DV Unit Manager, the DV agent trainee will serve as the first line of supervision for a DV caseload. Maintains a professional communication network inside and outside the department, promotes public relations within the local community and with service providers. Maintains effective knowledge of all areas of DV supervision, programs, policies, and protocols. Participates in trainings and maintains all requirements for DV Certification. Participates in deployments. Monitors the specialized supervision of a DV caseload to include but not limited to DV supervision conditions, office visits, home visits, field visits, attendance of counseling sessions and contact with treatment providers. Utilizing community resources and case management techniques to gain compliance with the specialized population. Utilize specialized technologies to include GPS monitoring and/or alcohol monitoring.


A bachelor's degree with at least 15 semester hours in social or behavioral science courses; An associate’s degree and two (2) years of military or certified law enforcement experience (to include Class 1 or Offender Supervision Specialist experience) may be substituted; or a high school diploma and four (4) years of military or certified law enforcement experience (to include Class 1 or Offender Supervision Specialist experience) may be substituted.
