Wanted: Dog Trainer

Part time or Full Time hybrid Training/Dog Daycare position

Salary Range – Dependent upon experience as well as availability to conduct lessons. Approximately $20K to $50K annually.

Well established doggie daycare in Blue Bell, PA seeks Dog Trainer to conduct pet dog obedience group classes, private lessons as well as stay and train sessions. Prefer experience with multiple training techniques and variety of training aids. Our current training methodologies are positive reinforcement based and use Marker training techniques. We use balanced training methods and require a trainer that fits with that philosophy.

Group classes are taught at our facility in a climate controlled building. Private lessons are conducted either at our facility or in-home, depending on preference of client.

Candidates must have prior experience teaching private lessons and/or group classes.

About US: Cubby’s Canine Castle opened in 2006 and is a full service doggie daycare offering daycare, boarding, training, and grooming. We average about 80 dogs a day and continue to grow and expand. We have multiple large indoor and outdoor play yards. Our facility strives on providing maximum enjoyment for our dogs, as well as ensuring safety and security. Our facility allows for group play, in an unleashed setting. Staff enforces proper manners and play in order to provide an enjoyable time for all of our daycare dogs. Responsibilities:

· Conduct group training classes.

· Conduct private lessons both at our facility as well as in-home within 20 minute driving radius of our facility.

· Communicate with clients for scheduling and behavior updates.

· Develop training plans for dogs and their humans.

· Provide follow up notes to clients for both privates and stay and trains so clients have easy, clear reference for completing homework assignments.

Skills/Qualifications

· As all dogs are different, we prefer experience with multiple training methodologies and a variety of training aids. We use balanced training methods and require a trainer that fits with that philosophy.

· Excellent written and verbal skills with both dogs and humans.

· Minimum one year of professional experience providing instruction to people in private lessons and/or group classes.

· Excellent organizational skills.

· Flexible schedule is a must as clients’ availability will dictate scheduling of private lessons.
