Role Description

Dr. Onur Avci ([email protected]) is seeking a full-time Doctoral Student to join his team starting Spring 2024. This is an on-site role located in Morgantown, WV. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research on structural vibrations, serviceability of steel framed floors, vibration-based and vision-based damage detection, inspection using drones, etc. The Doctoral Student will be expected to collaborate with faculty and other students on multiple research projects. Qualifications

• Previous experience in a research or academic setting.
• Strong background in structural dynamics and machine learning is needed. The applicant must be experienced with the Matlab/Simulink and/or Python programming environment.
• Knowledge of relevant academic disciplines.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong research and writing skills.
• The applicant must hold an MS degree in civil structural engineering.
