As the Distribution and Supply Chain Manager, you will play a vital role in our mission to distribute and sell our wide range of business, self-improvement, and professional development books. Your expertise in managing distribution partnerships and optimizing sales will directly impact the success of our authors and our publishing efforts.
Responsibilities
Take ownership of our relationships with key distribution partners, ensuring seamless collaboration with Ingram, Firebrand, and Findaway.
Expand our distribution network by exploring opportunities for COOP programs and other paid initiatives with major retailers.
Drive sales growth in diverse markets, forging strong partnerships across all product types, channels, and geographies.
Develop and maintain relationships with major eBook vendors, airport retailers, and the ever-important Amazon.
Play a key role in producing accurate and optimized metadata (ONIX) for all our titles.
Collaborate with the Chief Product Officer on shared responsibilities for libraries and licensees.
Work closely with manufacturing, design, and production teams to ensure timely print runs, cost-efficiency, and optimal inventory control.
Implement and manage the Digital Asset Management (DAM) and Digital Asset Distribution (DAD) systems.
Collaborate with the Senior Director of Publishing Operations to ensure accurate and optimized information in the Title Management System for effective selling and discovery.
Coordinate with the Senior Director of Book Promotions to develop and execute marketing plans aligned with retail efforts, maximizing product discovery and sales.
Measure success through key performance indicators (KPIs) including revenue growth, inventory management, and eBook/audiobook sales.
Key Outcomes
Launch global print and Print-on-Demand (POD) distribution for all imprints within the first year.
Optimize the project management platform for distribution planning, enabling transparency across the organization.
Establish an automated reporting system for author sales within one year.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a publishing/content retailing environment.
Advanced skills in selling, negotiating, and meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to thrive in a collaborative and innovative environment.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain quality standards.
Adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Desire to contribute meaningfully to the growth and success of our organization.
Strong work ethic and determination to achieve excellence.
