Zuern Building Products is looking for a Dispatch & Yard Manager at our Cedarburg location. The Dispatch and Yard Manager is responsible for setting the example and providing direction in the operation of the lumberyard. This is accomplished by leading the yard staff to provide excellent customer service to customers and to ensure company processes and policies are followed

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage pick & confirm, invoicing orders, calling customers/contractors before leaving yard, processing of returns
• Plan, organize, guide and lead a safe environment
• Oversee staffing, hours scheduling, approving PTO, etc. for the yard with yard manager
• Maintain truck and forklift maintenance
• Maintain Saturday rotation and oversee Saturday staff if needed
• Accomplish staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
• Responsible for snow removal in the yard & delegating when needed
• Coach, counsel, and discipline employees
• Coordinate deliveries/returns with Inside and Outside Sales Reps via Assistants
• Implementing a system for double checking (physically counting and approving) all deliveries for accuracies before leaving the yard
• Continuous communication with GM/Owners on updates, improvements, etc. as needed
• Enforce and follow all company policies including safety
• Communicate with other yard dispatchers on transfers, inventory needs and staff scheduling
• Direct contact for Contractors regarding revisions and/or additions on orders

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to operate a forklift
• Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds, bend, stoop, kneel, climb and reach
• Mathematical skills required to add, subtract, multiply, divide, measurements of square foot and cubic foot
• Strong computer skills and understanding of Zuern Building Products software platform
• Strong attention to detail
• Requires High School Diploma and lumberyard experience or 2-4 year degree related to business or construction industry.
• Requires good oral and written communication skills in order to interact with employees and customers

WORK REQUIREMENTS:

• Willing to work varying shifts or hours
• Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and medically able to operate a Zuern company vehicles
• Must be willing and able to work out in the yard 50% of the time and inside 50% of the time
