Job Overview:
Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a Director of Rehabilitation in our Spokane, WA facility.
Responsibilities:
The Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) serves as an experienced subject matter leader and expert in staffing, clinical certifications, evidence-based practice, scope of practice, regulatory standards, clinical and payor guidelines, standards for certification and accreditation and operations. Leading effectively and resourcefully with operations management in a changing rehab and outpatient therapy regulatory environment. The DOR directs, plans and evaluates clinical practice, functional outcomes, fiscal responsibility, and change management in Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy. Provides oversight for the Motion Analysis Center. The DOR works closely and productively with other Directors of Rehabilitation, as well as, SHC Headquarters leadership and staff in support of building and sustaining an SHC standardized system of therapy services and processes. In cooperation with other local leaders, offers exceptional care following the Shriners Children's FOCUSED©™ Program, a system-wide model for professional practice that stresses and emphasizes patient-centered care, or always putting the needs of the patients (and their families first).

This position is administrative, but can provide limited direct patient care as needed. The successful candidate will manage both sports medicine and developmental care, both areas focusing on pediatric care, managing both areas proficiently and equitably.
Qualifications:
Education/Licensure


Master of Physical Therapy required

Doctorate of Physical Therapy preferred

Physical Therapy license in the state of practice required

Basic Life Support (BLS) required


Additional Educational Requirements
Transitional Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy (tDPT) preferred


Experience
At least 5 years of management/supervisory experience in physical therapy/rehab therapies
Demonstrated experience in revenue cycle, coding, reconciliation, documentation, billing and prior authorization of third party payors to include letters of medical necessity required
Medicaid experience required
Experience in pediatric orthopedics and/or inpatient rehabilitation is preferred

Member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) or American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) required

Other
Current full vaccination status required
