Job Description

SCOPE OF WORK:Provides guidance and support services in the areas of academic program initiatives, curriculum development and revision, credit for prior learning, workforce development and academic integration, instructional strategies, and assessment. This position reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs at White Mountains Community College.


ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Works with programs on the effective integration and assessment of internships and service learning.
  • Complies with all system, college, state, and federal rules and regulations.
  • Supports faculty in implementing proven guided pathways strategies including co-requisite remediation, gateway course completion, structured and strategic course schedules, and advancing adult learners.
  • Supports faculty and Academic Affairs in preparing curriculum proposals.
  • Serves as a member of the Alternative Delivery Committee and other committees as assigned.
  • Assists faculty with common course outlines and syllabi preparation, test construction, and the design of classroom assessment techniques and feedback loops.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Partners with Institutional Research to analyze assessment, retention, academic, and cohort data in order to strengthen teaching effectiveness.
  • Assists faculty, staff and administration on the research, development and submission of grant opportunities related to academic programming and student success.
  • Assists faculty with the development of credit for prior learning (CPL) and prior learning assessment (PLA) opportunities within their programs; assists in the monitoring of CPL and PLA courses and matrix development.
  • Provides a broad strategy under which faculty will have guidance on improvement in training.
  • Researches current and best practices in classroom instruction, including hybrid, hyflex, and online environments. Assists faculty in curriculum design which supports accelerated term opportunities, providing follow-up assistance and support to faculty as they incorporate new methodologies into their teaching practice.
  • Supports programs and faculty in the comprehensive program review process, regional higher education accreditations, programmatic specialized accreditations, and assessment initiatives.
  • Supports Academic Affairs and programs in the initiation and development of articulation agreements.
  • Organizes in-house presentations and workshops and researches external professional development opportunities for faculty.
