Job Summary:


Kayo Energy is looking for an experienced leader and director with extensive solar experience so join as a Director of Field Operations.


Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Visit customer sites to determine solar system needs, requirements, or specifications.
  • Estimate materials, equipment, and personnel needed for residential or commercial solar installation projects.
  • Supervise solar installers, technicians, and subcontractors for solar installation projects to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Coordinate or schedule building inspections for solar installation projects.
  • Perform start-up of systems for testing or customer implementation.
  • Monitor work of contractors and subcontractors to ensure projects conform to plans, specifications, schedules, or budgets.
  • Provide technical assistance to installers, technicians, or other solar professionals in areas such as solar electric systems, and electrical systems.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Prepare solar installation project proposals, quotes, budgets, or schedules.
  • Assess system performance or functionality at the system, subsystem, and component levels.
  • Direct all Solar Field Operation Leaders company wide
  • Evaluate subcontractors or subcontractor bids for quality, cost, and reliability.
  • Assess potential solar installation sites to determine feasibility and design requirements.


Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Previous solar, construction or military experience is preferred but not required.
  • Adheres to company safety policies and procedures including ability to identify and report safety hazards, and the ability to encourage others to work safely at all times.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • 8+ years of residential solar experience
  • Ability to work as a team player, and drive results in a fast paced, team-based environment.


Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Ability to move materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks (up to 50 pounds )
  • Ability to work on rooftops with various angles and surfaces which requires frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, turning, standing, and balance
  • Ability to work within the safe range of equipment such as ladders, fall protection harnesses and other personal protective equipment
  • Ability to work and maintain balance on roofs and other areas of height
  • Ability to work in the sun and possibly low light conditions
  • Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions
