The Director of Risk Management and Regulatory Compliance plays a critical role in managing the worldwide risk profile including insurance coverage and internal controls. The role includes preparing and maintaining compliance with worldwide policies and procedures in preparation for Sarbanes-Oxley readiness as well as other required policies (ex. Sanctions Policy, etc.). The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial processes, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.


Responsibilities:

  • Treasury: Collaborate with Treasury function to ensure proper management and control of financial transactions, cash flows, banking relationships, and investment activities. Assist in cash forecasting, liquidity management, and optimizing working capital.
  • Date Warehouse Management: Assist the CFO in setting up and managing the Worldwide Data Warehouse which will be instrumental in the success of the Company’s’ exit strategy, including documented policies and procedures.
  • Risk Management: Identify and evaluate financial and operational risks, develop risk mitigation strategies, and provide guidance to the organization on risk-related matters. Conduct risk assessments and implement controls to minimize exposure to potential risks.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Conduct regular reviews and audits to monitor compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify non-compliance issues, recommend corrective actions, and provide guidance to stakeholders on adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Audit, Legal, IT and Operations, to ensure alignment and cooperation in achieving compliance objectives. Provide training and guidance to employees on internal control-related matters.
  • Corporate Insurance: Oversee the company's corporate insurance program, including property, liability, D&O, E&O and Cybersecurity coverages and other relevant insurance policies. Coordinate with insurance brokers, underwriters, and internal stakeholders to assess coverage needs, manage claims, obtain required COI’s and ensure compliance with insurance requirements.
  • Due Diligence: Assist in risk related acquisition due diligence.
  • Internal Controls: Assess, design, implement, and monitor internal control frameworks, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets, ensure accuracy of financial reporting, and prevent fraud. Continuously evaluate control effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  • SOX Compliance: Lead and manage all aspects of SOX compliance activities, including planning, scoping, documentation, testing, and remediation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate control gaps and ensure adherence to SOX requirements.


The ideal candidate for this role:

  • Professional certification such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certified Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using financial systems and software, including ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, self-starter, work independently, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Law Firm/Paralegal/General Counsel experience a plus
  • Strong knowledge of SOX/internal control compliance requirements and experience in conducting compliance activities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
