Job Description

Position: Director of Procurement

Location: Charlotte, NC


Job Responsibilities:

As the Director of Procurement, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the procurement function within the company. Your main objective will be to develop and execute effective procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services required for the organization's operations. Specifically, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's overall goals and objectives. Collaborate with executive leadership to understand and support the organization's purchasing needs.
  2. Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and onboard reputable suppliers and vendors. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and reliable delivery.
  3. Contract Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations to secure favorable terms and conditions for procurement agreements, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  4. Cost Optimization: Continuously identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements in procurement operations. Implement strategies to optimize costs without compromising quality or service.
  5. Electronic Components Expertise: Utilize your specialized knowledge and experience in electronic components to make informed procurement decisions for technology-related projects and products.
  6. Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels and ensure proper stock levels of essential goods and components to support ongoing operations and avoid stockouts.
  7. Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional growth and success.
  8. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks related to procurement activities, such as supply chain disruptions, changes in market conditions, or vendor reliability issues.
  9. Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards in all procurement activities.
  10. Reporting and Analysis: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess procurement performance. Provide regular reports to management with insights and recommendations for improvement.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience as a Procurement Manager or Director, preferably in a technology-driven industry with a focus on electronic components.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of electronic components and the electronics supply chain.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing procurement strategies that result in cost savings and operational efficiencies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data-driven insights for decision-making.
  • Familiarity with procurement software and systems.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
