The Director of Maintenance will lead our dynamic team and ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of our organization's infrastructure and facilities. As the Director of Maintenance, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our maintenance processes, implementing effective strategies, and ensuring a safe and efficient working environment for our employees and guests.

As a Director of Maintenance, you will:

  • Experienced in managing preventive maintenance and support for F&B Operations in a resort environment kitchen. Including gas equipment, life safety and refrigeration equipment.
  • Ensure the hotel is in compliance with all local, state and federal laws.
  • Other duties as assigned by resort operations leadership.
  • Responsible for effectively managing the Engineering Department’s budget by tracking expenses and by proactive procurement.
  • Manage the team through expectations and accountability.
  • Experienced in effectively operating resort operations devices & software (HotSOS)..
  • Responsible for the procurement and inventory of all tools and materials purchased and/or assigned to the Engineering Department.
  • Develops and maintains departmental schedules to support resort operations.
  • Coordinates, supervises, and leads engineering projects, guest calls, blitzes and preventative maintenance in units, common areas and grounds.
  • Experienced in tracking, analyzing and interpreting inspections to ensure proper operation and proactive repairs.
  • Leads or actively participates in the Safety Committee team for property operations.
  • Supervise and train all Engineering staff in Customer Service, Empowerment, Standard Operating Procedures, and Loss Prevention Standards.
  • Develop financial forecasts and actively participate in monthly profit/loss review meetings.
  • Responsible for maintaining and executing the Capital reserve budgets.
  • Experienced and understanding of how plumbing, electrical and HVAC-R systems operate and how to troubleshoot to identify and mitigate issues.
  • Perform routine inspections on buildings, common areas and mechanical components for safety, mechanical integrity and quality assurance as needed.
  • Develop and implement plans to maintain property, equipment, grounds and other assets in an acceptable state of repair.
  • Proactively resolves maintenance issues, processes, and resolutions.
  • Ensure that all emergency and life safety equipment and systems are inspected, tested and certified per company standards.

Qualifications


To perform this job successfully, you must have excellent communication skills and be able to read, write and speak English fluently. Additionally, the person must possess and adhere to the following core values:

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of leadership experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Required to pass a background check, drug test, and prove eligibility to work in the United States
  • Valid state Driver’s License
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills with the ability to interact with all levels of team members and guests in an attentive and service-oriented manner

  • OSHA Safety Certification preferred.
  • Minimum High School diploma, Bachelors's or Associate’s in a maintenance-related field
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in outdoor weather conditions
  • Preferably licensed or certified in the major trades; refrigeration, plumbing or electrical
