Director of Information Technology


Overview

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of IT develops and implements a forward-looking IT strategy and technology roadmap that supports the company’s current and future business objectives. With a small team and 3rd party resources as needed, the Director will provide exceptional IT service and support to Finance, Manufacturing, Distribution, Purchasing, Operations and Sales driving continuous improvements in productivity, service quality, decision making, process automation, lowest total cost of ownership for IT systems, and end user adoption across multiple locations and business units. This is a hands-on and high visibility position that has a unique opportunity to impact the business.


Core Responsibilities / Essential Job Functions:

•In partnership with senior management, provide thought leadership and lead IT strategic planning process to create and implement forward looking technology roadmap, plan and budget.

•Lead and develop a team to implement an IT plan, maintain system uptime, and deliver highly responsive and effective end user support to 24/7 multi-site operations.

•Enhance capacity and maintain IT infrastructure through system upgrades and hardware changes consistent with IT plan.

•Develop IT policies and procedures according to best practices and needs of Company.

•Oversee security of systems, networks, and enterprise information. As needed, review/ revise security and disaster recovery plan/ procedures to ensure data protection and the continuity of business operations.

•Review, recommend, and manage vendors, licensing and maintenance contacts for hardware, software, telecommunications, and office peripheral systems.

•Accelerate adoption of existing technologies and educate end users to unlock value.

•Create and support Power BI Suite of products to provide advanced data analysis, data driven reports & analytics, reference documentation, and ensure data files and data flows within the IT system.

•Support with data validation, quality issues, integrity, accuracy, consistency and works to resolve issues related to data elements including duplication and cleansing

Required Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Analytics or equivalent preferred.

•10+ years of progressive IT experience across multiple IT areas in a fast-paced, multi-site industrial context with at least 5 years of senior management experience.

•Broad IT knowledge, best practices with network design/architecture, cybersecurity, hardware/software

•Experience with acquisitions and corresponding integration

•Experience with smaller, high-growth companies and building infrastructure to support growth

•Experience with ERP conversions and integrations as well as CRM implementations and integrations

•Both strategic and tactical thinker, ability to put together both long-term and short-term plans

•Ability to work with a variety of personalities, entrepreneurial leaders, etc.

•Ability to collaborate with various user groups, understand functional needs and interdependencies

•Ability to communicate complex IT concepts to non-IT leadership in layperson’s terms

•We need a “Doer” who is not afraid to get into the details and do some things themselves (as opposed to a hands-off leader with a large team) and to be a “Player-Coach”
