Director Of Finance Cpg

CSuite Financial Partners has been retained by our client, a high-capacity provider of private label and co-pak consumer brands. The firm is based in Riverside California.

We are seeking a Director of Finance. This is a great opportunity for someone in the CPG/Manufacturing industry with strong financial planning and analytics experience looking for a strategic opportunity in a leadership role. The company is positioned for growth given a recent significant investment in their 150,000 SF production facility allowing for 2x existing capacity.

Responsibilities:

Provide direction, management and oversight of Finance and treasury functions. Responsible for presenting monthly financial statements and advanced Excel reports. Provide a key role in leading the group to maintain and improve the timeliness, accuracy, controls, and value-added analysis. This is a strategic partnership role working closely with five departments across the organization. Including strategic financial planning, modeling, and developing the company's short and long-term strategy. Assist in the analysis of acquisition opportunities and other strategic initiatives. This position provides critical support and proactively communicates ideas and findings to ensure the continued success and future growth of the organization. There are over 100 products within this organization with annual sales in excess of $160M.

Reporting and Compliance

• Assist in coordinating, organizing, and monitoring the year-end financial statement audit by the Independent Auditors. Assist in coordinating, organizing, and monitoring tax related activities, bank audits and other audits as necessary.
• Ensure a timely preparation of all entities’ financial statements and supporting documentation, and subsequent monthly reporting package. Prepare explanations and provide supporting documentation for material variances from prior periods and current budget(s)/forecast(s).
• Assist in the review of monthly State of California Excise Tax Report along with other Tax and Trade Bureau communications and regulatory reporting.

Finance/Analytics/Business/Partnering

• Assisting in managing bank relationships, compliance reporting.
• Manage strategic projects related to customer and product profitability, vendor pricing and materials variances, and other key areas, improving efficiency and productivity.
• Monthly and quarterly variance analysis.
• Budget preparation and presentation to executive management, shareholders and other outside parties.
• Review and analysis of all COG. Developing pricing strategies for new and planned brands in addition to contract packaging pricing modeling.
• Development of KPI’s for the company as a whole

Requirements:

• Knowledge extensive order entry and inventory analysis.
• Ability to interpret excise tax, risk management, contracts, and regulations.
• Advanced Excel is required.
• 5-10 years+ experience within the distribution and consumer goods (CPG) sector for a middle market to larger organization.
• Problem solver, self-starter, desire for timeliness and accuracy, desire to excel.
• CPA or MBA preferred.
• Highly experienced Financial Planning and Analytics involving CPG.
• Knowledge of manufacturing and perpetual inventory including bill of materials.
• BS/BA degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent is required. Masters/MBA is a plus.
• Experience with Mergers & Acquisitions is a plus.
