Director Of Facilities Jobs

Job Responsibilities

Directs operations of the college's facilities and manages the design and implementation of campus construction.

Coordinates with architectural and engineering firms in the development or review of plans.

Manages new construction and renovation projects, including playing an active role in the associated procurement of services. Insures project activities are compliant with SC Dept of Administration and Office of State Engineer guidelines.

Directs activities of personnel engaged in the operation of the campus buildings & grounds, custodial services, shipping/receiving, etc.

Directs activities of personnel engaged in the maintenance and repair of facilities and engineered systems. Provides technical assistance and oversight as needed.

Coordinates and prepares specifications and estimates for materials, labor and supplies for annual deferred maintenance.

Directs activities of personnel engaged with capital and non-capital equipment inventory, and warehousing of records.

Provides direction to technical personnel and consultation to college administration for campus-wide issues and technical projects.

Directs funds for expenditures for overall operation of the physical plant. Responsible for physical plant budget functions. Serves as administrator of the computerized maintenance management software (CMMS), TMA Systems, for tracking corrective and preventative maintenance activities.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

A high school diploma and professional experience in building repairs and maintenance or in the specific area of assignment, and experience in a supervisory role. Prefer Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field.

Previous experience wit State of SC construction projects.
