Essential Function
The Director oversees higher education communication platforms related to student retention and engagement, including Triton’s early alert system. The individual leads student-facing content creation and management and serves as the liaison between vendors, Information Systems, Research, and end users, including students, staff, and faculty.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Library Science, or related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
Experience: 1-3 years’ experience in Student Affairs preferred.

Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to motivate and engage students, translate technical concepts to non-technical colleagues, and work effectively with vendors, Information Systems, Research, and colleagues across campus.

Responsibilities
1. Create student communications and communication plans related to student retention and engagement initiatives, including Triton’s early alert system.

2. Be the ambassador for Triton’s early alert system to increase institution-wide usage of retention tools.

3. Serve as a liaison to designated institutional stakeholders, specifically in Student Affairs, in order to understand their unique content needs and business processes and identify how higher
education communication platforms can best serve their needs.

4. Continually analyze and benchmark existing retention and engagement communication platforms against peer institutions, recommending enhancements, additions, or replacements as appropriate.

5. Serve as the primary contact for software and application trials and renewals; facilitate college approval and procurement process for all agreements, subscriptions, and contracts.

6. Serve as the liaison to Information Systems, working collaboratively on the technical aspects of software and applications to ensure a smooth transfer of information between Triton’s enterprise systems.

7. Lead project planning and develop implementation timelines and roadmaps, working
collaboratively to identify priorities and feasibility.

8. Design and deliver end-user onboarding and on-going training on use and best practices.

9. Create user documentation and develop ongoing assessment to maximize system functionalities and continuously improve upon the value derived from the tools.

10. Communicate and roll out any system changes, upgrades, issues, or clarifications to end users.

11. Recommend strategic employment of unused or underutilized platform features.

12. Maintain user management, credentials, and security within software and applications.

13. Provide functional and technical support and troubleshooting to end users, escalating as necessary to Information Systems or vendors.

14. Use knowledge of retention policy and procedures to improve efficiency and processes through communication and technology solutions.

15. Keep abreast of new features and functionality and implement approved enhancements and improvements.

16. Oversee applicable student reporting, developing reports and creating dashboards and infographics of key metrics and data.

17. Collaborate with Information Systems and Research for data management and reporting.

18. Assist with student support services as needed.

19. Perform other duties as assigned.
