Director of Alumni Relations at La Salle Academy, Providence, RI


Position Overview: The Director of Alumni Relations at La Salle Academy in Providence, RI, plays a vital role in fostering and strengthening the connections between the school and its alumni community. This position involves developing and implementing strategies to engage alumni, enhance their involvement in the school's activities, and promote lifelong relationships that contribute to the overall growth and success of the institution.


Key Responsibilities:


Alumni Engagement Strategy:

  • Create and manage programs and initiatives that encourage alumni to stay connected with the school, its current students, and fellow alumni.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy that aligns with the school's mission, values, and goals.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with alumni, both locally and globally, through various communication channels such as events, Email, social media, and personalized outreach.


Alumni Events and Activities:

  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate alumni participation into existing school events and programs.
  • Track and measure the success of alumni engagement initiatives and provide regular reports to leadership on the impact of alumni relations efforts.
  • Plan, organize, and manage a variety of key events that help alumni engage with La Salle. Events include regional receptions, class reunions, the alumni golf tournament, grandparents day, and others.


Alumni Communications:

  • Create and distribute regular communications through various mediums (social media, email, etc) to keep alumni informed about school news, achievements, and upcoming events.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of alumni information in the school's database, ensuring effective communication and engagement efforts.
  • Manage the alumni section of the school's website and social media platforms to share alumni stories, updates, and achievements.



Volunteer Management and Collaboration:

  • Work closely with school administrators, faculty, staff, and the Board of Trustees to align alumni relations efforts with the overall institutional goals.
  • Collaborate with the development team to create and implement strategies for engaging alumni in fundraising efforts, including annual giving campaigns, capital campaigns, and endowment growth.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination of alumni-related activities.
  • Act as the primary liaison for La Salle with both the Alumni Association and the class agents.
  • Recruit, train, and manage alumni volunteers who contribute their time, expertise, and resources to support the school's initiatives.


Qualifications:

  • The Director of Alumni Relations at La Salle Academy plays a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the school's alumni connections, fostering a sense of community, and contributing to the overall advancement of the institution.
  • Ability to connect with diverse groups of individuals and build meaningful relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Creative and strategic thinking, with the ability to develop and execute innovative engagement strategies.
  • Proficiency in database management and use of relevant software tools. Preference for working knowledge of Blackbaud Raisers Edge.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for events and activities.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Master's preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience in alumni relations, event planning, fundraising, or related roles.
  • Preference for an alumni/ae of La Salle or other direct connection to the school.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Understanding of the school's mission, values, and culture.
