Now that the company is well-capitalized, e-Zinc is now looking to expand its talented team to bring its technology to market to support the renewable energy transformation.


Opportunity


e-Zinc is seeking a Director, Government Relations (GR) to join our Commercial Team and support a growing energy storage company. This role will report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and be responsible for all government-related activities in the United States. We seek a talented, driven individual who is interested in taking a manufacturing-focused startup to the next level and bring a commercial energy storage product to market.


Position Scope & Responsibilities


  • Ensure timely submission of all GR-related items including grants, RFIs, RFPs, solicitations, and comments on government policy
  • Manage and monitor proposal progress, take appropriate action to maintain deadlines and communicate updates to all stakeholders
  • Tracking, evaluating, and submitting comments on policy directly related to the energy storage space
  • Define and execute policy advocacy and government affairs strategies across U.S. states in collaboration with the e-Zinc team to provide recommendations
  • Finding, evaluating, and applying for non-dilutive government grants
  • Coordinating introductions and setting meetings between e-Zinc leadership and government officials including congresspeople, senators, program directors, and other stakeholders


Qualifications


  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with key government stakeholders
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Extensive experience in a government-relations or related role
  • Knowledge of the energy industry required
  • Experience applying for non-dilutive grants or similar government funding
  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as political science, government affairs, business administration. A master’s degree in a related field is an asset
  • Willingness to travel – expectation of at least 1 trip per month
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Salary range: $200k-$250k USD depending on experience. We are open to negotiation if a candidate's experience aligns closely with the qualifications listed.
