Purpose Directs and mentors the Granite State Electric Engineering & Project Management Organization to provide high quality engineering services. Formulates and promotes engineering-related guidelines and procedures to match and support the Company goals and principles. Guides the management staff in making sound engineering, project management & financial decisions. Provides counsel to senior management as requested. Accountabilities Directs the Engineering & Project Management Organization for New Hampshire Electric to provide quality engineering services that support the company goals and principles. Management responsibilities including establishing procedures and developing a successful team. Directs the Granite State Electric annual and long term Capital Plan. This includes the planning, budgeting, execution and administration to meet the company objectives. Capital expenditure oversight responsibilities include advising management on capital needs and issues, providing accurate reporting and projection, ensuring that expenditures are being made for top priority projects and that the company policies are adhered to. Provide oversight and leadership for the development of appropriate work standards for the Electric distribution infrastructure. Responsible for promoting sound asset management practices for the long term sustainability of Company Utility Systems Promotes advancements in, and the use of, technology to improve system safety and reliability, optimize work flow, and optimize record keeping and data integrity. Provide oversight for development of an annual integrated system plan for the electric system Directs the Development of an annual and long-term integrated resource plan for Electric construction & maintenance Ensure compliance with all applicable Local, State, and Federal codes including the filing of applicable periodic reports under each jurisdiction. Provide engineering support during emergency response events occurring on the electric delivery system. Supports company strategic and tactical activities and initiatives, including safety, Grid Modernization, emergency response and preparedness. Performs various special projects and other duties that may be assigned by senior management. Education and Experience Required to have a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET Accredited University Required to have a Professional Engineering License Must have a Minimum of 10 Years' experience in Utility engineering and at least (3) years of Supervisory/Management experience A master's degree in engineering management or Business preferred A Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred Must have a proven management ability in both Engineering & Corporate management. Experience working with regulated utilities and dealing with the New Hampshire Public Service Commission preferred. Experience testifying in front of a Regulatory commission is optional Must have experience in team management, project management and fiscal budgeting Effective Verbal and Written Communication skills to communicate with others including internal and external customers under normal and adverse conditions Knowledge and use of personal computers and advanced skills in word processing, data processing, spreadsheets, computer-aided drafting and geographical information systems (GIS) are required Possess effective interpersonal skills and be able to work and collaborate with people at all levels of the organization Occasional travel for business is required Support the Senior Director of Electric Operations in establishing an Engineering, Project Management & Planning organization that fully supports Liberty Utilities' vision and strategy. Leadership over the development of key metrics to enable efficiency within the electric organization.
