Purpose
Responsible for leading Billing, Meter Data and Net Metering across the organization, supporting all modalities across North America. The Director, Billing is accountable for driving the strategic directives, organization and operational objectives while supporting the implementation of continuous improvement of processes, defining and implementing processes, and developing staff. This position is highly visible and requires strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize, plan, strategize with the Meter to Cash leaders as well as the Business and directs the department with confidence while maintaining a professional operation and ensures delivery of the highest quality results leading to billing accuracy and timeliness. Understanding and meeting all mandated regulatory requirements in each state/location across North America. Developing and owning all corporate performance goals using effective management practices to support both local and across the organization. Build team skillset and engagement to drive efficiency, customer experience and revenue recovery to impact Liberty’s Return on Equity in our utility rate cases. Partner with Finance, Regulatory and Risk & Compliance teams across North America to ensure effective business controls and revenue compliance at each location.
Accountabilities
  • Develop and own all corporate performance goals to support local and organization-wide practices. Drive efficiency, customer experience and revenue recovery to impact Return on Equity in our rates cases.
  • High visibility and requires strong leadership with the ability to prioritize, plan, strategize with Meter to Cash leaders. This includes business and directs departments to ensure delivery of billing accuracy and timeliness.
  • Accountable for driving the strategic directives, organization and operational objectives while supporting the implementation of continuous improvement of processes, defining and implementing processes and developing staff. This responsibility also includes evaluation of the performance of staff against Liberty Utilities standards and mentoring and developing reporting staff
  • Understand and meet all regulatory requirements in each state/location across North America.
  • Partner with Finance, Regulatory and Risk & Compliance teams across North America to ensure effective business controls and revenue compliance at each location across North America.
  • Responsible for leading Billing, Meter Data and Net Metering across the organization supporting all modalities across North America.
Education and Experience
  • Must have great verbal and written communication skills
  • 10+ years of previous related experience
  • Previous SAP experience would be considered an asset
  • Previous experience working with complex billing required
  • 5+ years of leading teams
  • Bachelors' Degree of equivalent required
  • The successful candidate can work out of any state that we operate in, as long as they are in proximity to one of our office locations.
