Direct Support Professional Jobs

Charity Cares Agency is seeking positive, reliable, and flexible individuals to serve as support staff for adults with disabilities in our supported community connections day program. Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus, but not required. Our supported community connections program takes individuals in small groups out for activities in the community Monday through Friday.

• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the facility.
• Be a and supportive companion, and/or mentor.
• Report any unusual incidents.
• Care for clients in a professional and compassionate manner
• Inform physicians or supervisors about uncommon events.
• Provide activities and classes each day of the week that are based on the interest, goals and choices of the adults who attend the program.
• Help individuals obtain and maintain daily living skills and work toward their fullest potential to foster independence.
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
• Cook meals according to the client's restrictions.
• Provide emotional and community support.
• Model appropriate behavior and assist with task completion as necessary.
• Work productively and cooperatively as a member of a team
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
• Complete daily documentation and progress notes

• Interpersonal skills when working with clients, including having compassion and being sensitive to their emotional needs when they are in extreme distress or pain.
• Integrity to ensure clients feel safe and comfortable when tending to personal activities such as helping them in the community
• Physical stamina when performing tasks with clients.
• Trustworthiness and dependability so clients and their families feel comfortable relying on you
• Attention to detail, especially when adhering to specific protocols and rules while carefully following instructions to care for the needs of the client.

Education/Experience:
Required: High School diploma

Preferred: Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.

• Criminal Background Check
• Federal Bureau of Investigation Background Check
• Colorado Adult Protective Services Central Registry
