About Coastal Regional Center
Coastal Center is a residential facility of the SC Department of Disabilities and Special Needs. The Center serves residents of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Under direct supervision of Shift Supervisor/Program Coordinator I, provides treatment, care, and training of individuals the incumbent will transport residents on and off campus to designated areas such as classrooms and various medical/dental appointments.
1. Transport consumer to and from designated area on campus such as dental appointments, classroom, etc.
2. Drive a vehicle on/off campus to transport individual to various destinations and doctors' appointments.
3. Perform light maintenance on vehicles such as checking brakes, cleaning vans, and straightening Q'straints.
4. Practice safety rules as they apply to the operation of the vehicle such as using Q'straints on the adaptive van.
5. Other duties to include but not limited to working as DSP to assist with the needs of the consumers, transport consumers to other events not related to a doctor appointment, working overtime as needed, and other duties as warranted.

Requires frequent lifting up to 20 pounds. Some positions may require the ability to travel.
