Job Description

We’re looking for a junior social media associate to join our Social Media team. The Social Media Associate is the role responsible for executing our social media strategy and project plans across all brands’ accounts and priorities. This is the person who is “the voice” of our brands to the community, connecting w/ people through content and conversation. It is this person’s responsibility to drive engagement and grow the brand’s presence in social media, and to ensure that the Monster Energy Company’s brands’ culture is actively and accurately represented. They must be a social media mad scientist, willing to be creative and push the boundaries of what’s possible with community-based marketing.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Utilize social media monitoring tools to analyze and report on community insights and ROI.
  • Assist in the day-to-day operation of our social platforms, their content and performance.
  • Assist in the development and coordination of social programming for marketing events; if necessary, travel and perform duties on-site.
  • Build knowledge of paid-social, how it’s planned, the metrics and analytics involved.
  • Coordinate social content publishing, community engagement and response management and reporting across social accounts.
  • Support the senior Social Media and Digital Marketing leadership with strategic insights and recommendationsconsistent to the larger strategy.
  • Coordinate tactical planning with talent and influencers in order to plan and manage influencer-based campaigns.
  • Assist in facilitating the development, production and publishing of inspiring and trend setting content and franchises that align with the overarching social strategy.
  • Be the “eyes and ears” of our brands in social to listen, engage and learn how we can continue to improve relationships with brands’ fans and followers.
  • Inspire the wider Marketing organization and company on the power of social media.
  • Moderation of conversations pertaining to the brand customer care; answer comments, concerns, and questions.

Position Requirements:

  • Comprehensive understanding of and fluency across all popular social media channels, including but not limited to Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Twitch, Reddit, Discord and YouTube.
  • Ability to work across multiple brands and projects in a fast-paced environment, collaborating w/ multiple crossfunctional stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, advertising, public relations, media studies, business, and/or related fields.
  • 0-3 years of social media and community management experience; experience w/ consumer brands, entertainment/media and/or agencies is a plus.
  • Intermediate graphic design experience: Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects. HTML/CSS experience a plus.
  • High EQ with proven experience in building social communities inclusive of large and diverse audiences.
  • Strong writing capabilities, understanding how to copywrite in a personable or “human” way for a brand.

Pay Range: $51k - $68k
