Job Description
Fast Food? NO, it's fine dining at it's finest! Join our team of compassionate dietary aides/food servers who get to serve our residents daily. FT (30 or more hours) & PT hours available. Weekend availability is required. Flexible scheduling.

Personal Qualifications: Dietary Aides have a strong desire to relate to and work with the elderly. They possess high personal integrity, a caring attitude and portray a positive image. Dietary Aides find fulfillment in building personal relationships and providing excellent office services. They are committed to doing whatever it takes to enhance the dignity in people’s lives.


Professional Qualifications: Dietary Aides have the ability to understand and interpret either verbal or written directions. Dietary Aides are able to read the labels on chemicals, cleaning solutions, cookbooks, etc. Dietary Aides are able to understand the dangers that come with working with these products as well as the necessary equipment and supplies in the dietary department.


Physical Requirements: Dietary Aides understand the physical demands their jobs require and realize they need to:


  • Lift a maximum of fifty (50) pounds occasionally each work day.
  • Lift, stir, push, pull and move food, equipment, supplies, etc.
  • Go up and down stairs.
  • Lift thirty (30) pounds consistently.
  • Bend, stoop and twist almost constantly throughout the day.
  • Able to get from one area to another while carrying dishes, supplies, etc.
  • Remain active and on their feet for up to four (4) hours at a time.
  • See and read well enough to read container labels, measuring equipment recipes, thermometers, etc.
  • Use the typical kitchen utensils and machines.
  • Tolerate heat, steam, and food smells.
  • Be able to move and stretch in such a way as to be able to reach areas above their head and below their waist.

  • Create and maintain an environment which allows each resident to adjust to their limitations and recognize the dignity and worth of each individual.
  • Serve as an effective teacher, model, and consultant for other staff.
