This Is The Role


As a Development Engineer you will be charged with the design, plan, coordination, and implementation of complex R&D and Product Development projects within Rockfon, Rockwool and/or third-party suppliers and partners. This position is an on-site role at our Chicago facility (60638) with flexibility to work from home 1 day/week.


This Is What You Offer


  • Propose development ideas and projects
  • Engineering Degree required
  • Design, develop, and improve new and existing products making use of 2D and 3D design software when required (AutoCAD and SolidWorks)
  • Lead communication efforts in all aspects of assigned development projects and provide clear reporting on progress projects
  • Responsible for coordinating all project related certifications, approvals, and health & safety checks
  • Use and improve project management tools and processes within Rockfon to successfully implement projects
  • Analyze, report and archive test results
  • Lead cross-functional teams to meet company objectives
  • Coordinate necessary investments and properly research requests
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Manage multiple projects of different types including but not limited to: new product development, raw material development, compliance, and testing
  • Develop a solid external network with laboratories, regulatory agencies, suppliers, and third-party suppliers
  • Maintain a hands-on approach to factory trials and testing
  • Develop a solid internal network with Rockwool - Rockfon N.A. engineering, marketing, quality, operations, supply chain, GSP, Group Development, Group Technology, our factories and Rockwool operations
