Job Description

REMOTE CONTRACT ASSIGNMENT

MICHIGAN-BASED

Development Assistant

(up to 20 hours per week, starting at $15/hour for summer, possibly until December 2023)

Serve at the right hand of NVCN's Executive Director in helping to develop a corporate prospect list for NVCN’s 40 for 40 volunteer recruitment campaign for the State of Michigan.

In particular, NVCN is looking at identifying, cultivating and soliciting Michigan corporations—or corporations that will support Michigan-based volunteer caregiving that offer strong volunteer programs for their employees.


1. The Development Assistant will work with the Executive Director and our Michigan Coordinator to identify prospects.

2. Assistant in helping prepare solicitations for both local and statewide businesses and corporations.

3. Assist in scheduling follow up meetings with prospects and securing an invitation for sponsorship or proposal

4.Assist with research in preparation for the solicitation proposal

5.Maintain the tracking records and calendar invitation to ensure we are meeting deadlines

6. Prepare progress reports and updates for the Statewide Steering Committee

If there is success in our outreach, we may extend this position through December 2023 to assist in helping to collect assets that will be needed for recognizing each sponsor as part of NVCN’s 40 for 40 campaign.

Skills:

·Strong communication skills, English language

·Facility in the Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive

·Ability to merge letters using Excel and Word

·Attention to detail

·Strong time management

·Self-Starter
