Job Summary:
This position reports to the Manager, Design Quality Assurance (DQA) and provides validation test development, execution and results tracking for assigned projects in R&D. The DQA Engineer will be a hands-on participant in his/her assigned product development projects and will conduct functional testing on all ZOLL deliverables, from stand-alone code to complete products and systems.
As an integral development team member, the DQA Engineer will be an active participant in product and subsystem requirements development, as well as Test Plan reviews.
Essential Functions:
- Work with the product development teams to isolate failure modes and capture methods to reproduce product problems
- Implementing, reviewing and creating validation/verification test cases and test plans, both for DQA and the development teams.
- Identifying, reporting, and following up on test failures and observed defects
- Perform all testing as assigned - 80% manual testing, 20% automated testing
Skill Requirements:
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Documentation of requirements and test plans utilizing tools such as DOORS Proficient with MS/Office, demonstrated ability to learn and use software engineering tools and applications in MS Windows and Linux environments
Required/ Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical device experience a plus.
- 0-2+ years' experience testing software in a product development environment
- BS, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or equivalent
