Job Description
Functions as a team leader, acting as a resource to support the clinical practice. Provides inpatient and outpatient dental/medical/surgical care, (e.g., Patient history, physical examination, ordering and interpreting medical and laboratory tests, making medical/surgical diagnoses and instituting treatment programs). Specific procedures within a specific surgical specialty are individually credentialed as indicated by training and experience. Will drive the creation and success of the new General Practice Residency (GPR) program, working with GPR residents. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Doctor of Dental Surgery or D.M.D. Minimum of one year of experience in the OR and ED. Requires good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills as well as organizational skills, familiarity with computers, and excellent analytical and decision-making skills. Ability to react to crisis situations quickly and effectively using department protocols and guidelines. Strong computer skills and experience with healthcare databases and applications. Willingness to comply with all local, state, and federal laws regarding dental and health care. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to keep detailed records. Comprehensive knowledge of dental procedures, tools, and diagnostics. Good management skills. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Doctor of Dental Surgery or D.M.D. State license, State Controlled Substance. GPR Certificate of Completion. ACLS, BLS Certifications.
