Job Description
Due to critical service need of the communities we serve, we are offering a $4,000 sign-on bonus.* We are eager to continue to provide quality and compassionate care in our service areas and need you to make this happen!


The Dental Hygienist provides quality dental care and associated services to patients under the general supervision of a dentist and using established dental hygiene procedures. Assists other staff in a variety of patient care, and office duties. Performs broad responsibilities for clinic and community dental health education activities.


Responsibilities Include


Travel to other clinics may be required as needed.


  • Arrange for and Provide Mobile services including transportation of equipment, as well as manage data, records, and billing
  • Conduct oral health education for community groups by demonstrating our mission and promoting dental health
  • Establish favorable working relationships with all staff members associated with clinic operations, including Patient Services Reps (PSR), dental assistants, dentists, and related staff
  • Oversee attending dental hygiene students during rotations. Supervise hygienist to fill out all student forms
  • Read, write, and maintain patient records and related administrative documentation
  • Turn in any required daily and weekly paperwork to the Oral Health Clinic Manager and Lead Hygienist
  • Follow through with oral hygiene procedures in accordance with treatment plans prescribed by the attending dentist. Procedures may include: Prophylaxis, periodontal scaling, root planning, debridement, supra and subgingival scaling and curettage, application of fluoride treatments, application of protective sealants, delivery of oral hygiene instructions, desensitizing agents and silver diamine fluoride. Administer and monitor Nitrous Oxide and local anesthesia-infiltration/block
  • Perform maintenance (sharpening, sterilizing, and general upkeep) of equipment and supplies by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies. Help with daily sterilization of instruments
  • Assist with or initiate emergency measures for sudden adverse developments during treatment of patients
  • Evaluate overall oral health, examining oral cavity for signs of periodontal disease or possible cancers, including recessed & bleeding gums, and oral lesions
  • Achieve results by improving the oral health of patients through dental hygiene services and expanded duties that will ensure a positive experience
  • Interact positively with a diverse, sometimes difficult, and demanding patient population. Provide service in a manner that is appropriate for the patient's age; demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to meet the patient's physical, psychosocial, and educational and safety needs
  • Provide direct patient care and dental services as trained, licensed, and assigned. Assess dental condition and needs of patients using a comprehensive dental hygiene assessment which includes: medical history review, dental charting, and periodontal charting
  • Document dental history or chief complaint; record and report pertinent observations and patient reactions to dentists, as appropriate


Associate's degree in dental hygiene required


Bachelor's degree in dental hygiene preferred


Demonstrates professional commitment to providing services to underserved persons


Computer literate in electronic mail, word processing, and office management system software


A valid driver's license and agency established minimum automobile coverage upon hire (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire) required


QUALIFICATION(S): LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Dental Hygienist in the state of Missouri required
