Deckhand Jobs

Deckhand position available on 80 foot Hatteras Motor Yacht. This Yacht is based out of Virginia, but spends the winters in Florida and the Bahamas. During the summertime, we will travel throughout the Chesapeake Bay, we will also travel up North towards Martha's Vineyard, Rhode Island, etc. This position is available immediately for full time employment.

As a deckhand you are responsible for the cleanliness of the exterior of the yacht and some maintenance of the yacht, assisting with the docking of the yacht, maintaining the various water toys including tenders, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Boat washing
• Checking fluids and engine room
• Waxing and polishing outside
• Teak wood cleaning
• Maintain water toys
• Assist the Owner or Captain as needed
• Exterior deck set-up, cleaning, and take-down

Qualifications include:

• Interior cleaning of the yacht
• Experience handling lines and finders
• Exterior and interior cleaning of the yacht
• Experience handling lines and finders
• Basic seamanship
• 3 years experience on a yacht
• Tender driving ability
• Basic mechanical skills
• Exterior maintenance knowledge of waxing, polishing,stainless polishing, teak cleaning, varnishing, painting, etc. Varnishing and painting is not required, but certainly helpful if you have these credentials.

Working Conditions

• Ability to stand on your feet for longer periods of time.
• Must be comfortable working holidays, weekends and extended periods of time.
• Must be able to travel up and down the East Coast.
• Ability to work outdoors in an environment with various weather conditions such as heat and cold at times.
