Job Description

Tetra Tech, Inc. specializes in the recovery of communities after being significantly impacted by disasters or weather events. We are currently hiring for Debris Inspectors to help monitor / inspect debris removal. Employees in this position are the "on-site" monitor for the removal, and possibly, disposal of disaster generated debris.

This position is for immediate work, no physical labor, no experience required because training will be provided to you. We are looking for self-motivated, responsible, dedicated individuals with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision. Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and observe all loading activities of trucks, bobcats, front-end loaders, or other vehicles as instructed by the supervisor.
  • Confirm that the hauling contractors are loading only eligible storm related debris, which is on public rights-of-way or property, and that they are not going on to private property to collect debris.
  • Make sure contractors pick up all eligible debris and clear branches and other debris off roadway and private driveways before moving on.
  • Ensuring that debris clean up complies with federal regulations
  • Understand daily responsibilities set by supervisor and project manager
  • Brief Supervisor on day's activities, debris collection progress, issues, or problems.

Job Requirements:

  • Have a valid driver's license
  • Possess an insured reliable and dependable vehicle for following trucks. Must be available for all day use
  • Must meet driving record qualifications and pass a successful MVR check.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and work instructions
  • Ability to work for long periods of time in inclement weather
  • Ability to use a smartphone
  • Provide valid I9 documentation
  • Good teamwork and cooperation skills
  • Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time

In order to be considered for this position, your driving record must not indicate any of the following during the past 3 years:
  • Conviction of: reckless driving, driving with a suspended/denied/revoked license, hit and run or leaving the scene
  • Conviction for impaired or intoxicated driving (DWAI, DUI, DWI)
  • Punitive suspension, denial or revocation of driver's license
  • Conviction of 3 or more moving violations, at fault accidents or a combination
