Essential Functions and Objectives:

Provides strategic planning, leadership, administrative oversight, and overall programmatic direction for the Emily Griffith Technical College Apprenticeship Program. Facilitates leadership decision-making for program priorities, District support structures and resource allocation. Responsible for program development and accountability, working closely with site administrators, agencies, faculty and staff to ensure program goals and objectives are met. Supports the growth and advancement of apprenticeship sites through the development and delivery of services reflective of shared academic mission, vision, and values. Creates and manages the overarching strategy for developing, implementing, progress monitoring and improving the entire apprenticeship division (over 4000 students) at the College. Administers the execution, maintenance, project implementation, change management, and cross-functional alignment of workstreams and ensures program and district compliance with relevant industry, state, and federal regulations.
  • Operational excellence: manage and work with respective teams to implement policies, procedures, programs and initiatives that pertain to their functional unit. Set clear goals, organize work plans, and divide work accordingly. Assure adherence to daily operational items, such as budgets, schedules, and performance.

  • Program management: apply managerial thinking and decision making to deliver results and ensure project/team success. Provides leadership to teams in their area of responsibility.

  • Problem analysis: solve for problems, including defining, tackling and mitigating issues or situations. Map or assess situations, formulate options and provide guidance within a defined latitude.

  • Measure success: establish targets, analyze performance and follow up to ensure achievement plan is attainable.

  • Process improvement: analyze past trends, identify gaps, and understand district to provide recommendations.

  • Complexity & discretion: work on issues that require thorough analysis; apply discretion for decisions that could impact short term goals. Uses set guidance, policies and procedures to make decisions and address operational challenges.

  • Communication: collaborate with external partners, state agencies, other functions, peers and teams. Gain credibility and cooperation across the organization. Convey progress and goal results with functional areas. Conduct trainings, present findings & materials and other deliverables.

  • Team management: improves team performance through coaching, feedback and mentoring. Entrust and motivate direct reports by providing direction, and facilitate skill building.

Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:
  • Three years of experience in related field is required, with at least two years of supervisory experience
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to build and foster relationships and lead a high performing team
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, delegate and juggle management of several high-priority projects in parallel
  • Experience in grant management, curriculum development, materials selections, teacher training, and assessment planning.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Two to five years of experience administering academic and or workforce programs
  • Ability to develop and interpret data and manage resources
  • Strong organizational and analytic skills and strong attention to detail

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field.
  • Master's Degree preferred
