Job Description
General Purpose Of The Position


The primary responsibility will be the construction and assembly of data center cabinets needed for production scheduling and providing assembly support on the data center floor. Main areas of responsibility will include but are not limited to: cabinet construction per T-Scif build needs, cabinet construction for all RPP construction needs, and installation of cabinets on the data center floor. Secondary responsibilities include assisting with the construction of perimeter cage, communication path ladder rack, completion of T-Scif build post construction, RPP installation, safe transportation of populated customer cabinets throughout the facilities, and any facilities related duties during the buildings construction phase. This individual will work with the team of fellow technicians to meet build due dates and verify readiness for customer installations.


Supervisory Responsibilities


This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Essential Duties And Responsibilities


  • Utilize LMS Training to expand career opportunities within the company
  • Assist infrastructure team with data center floor assembly tasks assigned by DCO Management
  • Construct cabinet assemblies as needed per the customer install schedule
  • Ensure that all assigned tasks are completed with an acceptable level of cleanliness
  • Perform quality assurance checks on all work completed
  • Maintain appearance and communication for all customer service opportunities
  • Maintenance of supply and tool inventory used by cabinet build team
  • Assist infrastructure team members during the T-scif buildout process

Required Job Skills:


  • The ability to solve problems with good initiative and sound judgment and make decisions independently with minimal guidance
  • The ability to analyze and make suggestions for problem resolution
  • Must also demonstrate excellent verbal, interpersonal communication skills; the ability to express ideas clearly, concisely and effectively with personnel associated with the data center environment
  • Must have a demonstrated ability for dimensional measurement
  • Must have experience with a variety of hand tools (powered and non-powered)
  • Must be able to read blueprints and understand schematics related to data center support equipment
  • Must also have an understanding of safety requirements related to the construction field
  • Must have a demonstrated mechanical aptitude; this experience may be acquired via educational background or previous hands on experience from a skilled trade
Education and Experience:


Certificates: Any certificate related to the field


Education: High school diploma


Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience in production, facilities, mechanical maintenance or relevant field experience


Physical Demands


The data center is 24 hours/7-day operation. This person must be able to respond to emergency situations at any time of day or night. This position requires the ability to work effectively under pressure and multi-task and supervise multiple projects simultaneously. This person may be required to work extended hours during peak work periods.

If your position requires you to work in the field and/or warehouse, it is mandatory that you wear approved Personal Protective Equipment.


This position will include exterior facility work. Applicant must be able to work both indoors and outdoors while utilizing environmental safety practices.
