In this role, you will contribute to REI’s success by supporting the company’s Distribution Centers through the creation of demand forecasts, development and implementation of labor planning and through continuous improvement strategies.


You will collaborate with the Distribution Center and Integrated Value Chain teams to support DC operational processes or systems, work on projects that impact DC efficiencies or as a team member in support of large, more complex cross divisional efforts. The Production Control Analyst impacts DC operations by providing DC teams with information that is critical to day to day operations and annual planning. The Production Control Analyst will be directed in several aspects of their work but will be required to accomplish straightforward tasks. General proficiency with the tools, systems, and procedures required to accomplish their work is expected, though they may need to consult with their Manager or Subject Matter Experts on some technical issues. The Production Control Analyst models and acts under REI’s guiding values and mission.


  • Works with operations to optimize production efficiencies with a focus on cost to serve, capacity and throughput utilization, and labor planning.
  • Provides guidance to DC production control teams in topics such as waving, labor management and daily demand planning.
  • Monitors costs or service level agreements with internal or external partners.
  • Ability to transform data into proven visual reports that help DC and Integrated Value Chain teams make informed choices.
  • Works with DC operations teams and cross divisionally to give DCs with end-to-end forecasting, capacity planning, operational strategies, and labor guidance
  • Reports on DC Key Performance Indicators and underlying conditions that impacts DC operations on a weekly basis.
  • Develops and/or refines data collection and analysis tools to measure and manage processes or business metrics.
  • Drives discussions around DC event planning with topics including: demand forecasts, processing capacities, carryover projections, labor needs and Key Performance Indicators both via verbal presentation and in writing; utilizes presentation platforms such as MS PowerPoint, Mural or Smartsheet to document and present content.
  • Monitors DC operations on a daily basis and recommends changes to processes or strategy as needed to ensure operational efficiency across all sites.
  • Compiles and examines business data and metrics using MS Excel and SQL tools.
  • Creates and maintains reports that help identify and give solutions to processing and systemic bottlenecks within the DCs; focuses on continuous process improvement within the DCs through the use of data analytics

Preferred:


  • Certification in LEAN, Six Sigma or APICS.
  • Intermediate skills in data visualization software such as Tableau.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Distribution, Material Management, and/or Supply Chain from an accredited institution.


Required:

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft (MS) Excel is Required.

  • 3+ years experience in Production Control, DC Operations Material Handling, data analytics with a focus on forecasting and planning, labor management.

  • Intermediate skills and experience with Visual Basic Script and/or SQL, SAP, Manhattan Associates (WM), and AS400 i-series.
  • Intermediate skills in MS Office Tools such as PowerPoint, Word and Access.
  • Acts on opportunities and involves and influences others in the accomplishment of worthwhile organizational goals.
  • Uses business knowledge, innovative thinking, and sound judgment in the solution of problems or the pursuit of business opportunities.

The pay for this role is: $63300 - $101500 per year .
