Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:The Day Camp Counselor is a vital position of the Day Camp Program. The primary functions of this position are to provide supervision of camp attendees and successful activity programming. This is a seasonal position that will work Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. This position works under the direct supervision of a Recreation Assistant and reports directly to the Recreation Manager.
Minimum Required Experience, Education And Training
Must have a basic understanding of first aid.
Prefered Experience, Education And Training
Experience working with children in camps, youth programs, recreation or any other related fields is preferred.
Six (6) Months Customer Service Experience Is Preferred.
Current CPR/AED certification is preferred.
Miscellaneous Requirements
Must be 16 years of age or older.
Must be willing to work weekdays & evenings, May thru September.
Must enjoy working with kids and be capable of working indoors and outdoors.
Must be work well with others; be responsible, dependable, energetic, and friendly.
Must be highly engaged in the department's goals and be able to work cooperatively with Parks and Recreation leadership in achieving those goals.
Must possess a high degree of integrity, strong work ethic and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug and alcohol screenings.
