- Administration of physical and logical database components.
- Assist the application with database design and troubleshooting.
- Document systems and database procedures.
- Refine and improve processes for replication and synchronization between databases.
- Offers technical assistance in the development of a distributed environment.
- Administration and evaluation of database data and capacities.
- Manage security catalogs on multiple platforms.
- Perform research on database costs and other metrics as requested by management.
- Reviews, evaluates, and performs upgrades of operating systems, databases, and other system software.
- Investigates and resolves related system software: monitors system performance and tunes the environment to optimize cost and throughput.
- Provides technical assistance to the application staff as needed.
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A High School diploma and work experience in systems development and maintenance, technical support, or the support of database management systems. A bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).
