Data Engineer - Python/Sql

Volt is immediately seeking a strong individual contributor for the position of Data Engineer- for a renowned global technology company. This position will be a Hybrid role at their Cupertino facility.
Key Qualifications:

• Experience building scalable data pipelines using Spark, etc. is a plus.
• Experience in designing and building data models to improve accessibility, efficiency, and quality of data. Improve ELT efficiency and answering business critical questions with data.
• Self-starter with entrepreneurial experience and ability to interact with other functions in matrix environment. Proven creativity to go beyond current tools to deliver best solution to the problem. Familiarity with database modeling and data warehousing principles.
• Candidate must have solid competency in statistics and the ability to provide value-added analysis.
• Strong working knowledge of Python, SQL, and Git. Basic knowledge of SQL databases, Spark, data warehousing, and shell scripting.
• 2+ years as data engineer, software engineer, or data analyst. Battery Engineering / Electrical Engineering experience desired. Working knowledge and experience with big data.
• Desirable for experience with Apple OS, such as iOS, MacOS, etc.

:

• Be able to analyze factory, user, and failure data and use engineering understanding mechanisms to resolve battery problems.
• Build a high-quality data transformation framework, implementing and operating data pipelines with an understanding of data and ML lifecycles.
• Provide ad-hoc reporting as necessary (sometimes urgent escalation)
• Work with diverse teams including data scientists, engineers, product managers and executives.
• Write ELT pipelines in SQL and Python. Utilize advanced technologies, for modeling enhancements.
• Write programs for data filtering, organization, reporting. Write programs for uploading to and maintaining data in SQL database. Develop basic data management and selection programs on SQL.
• Deliver high quality analytic insights from a data warehouse.
• Test pipeline and transformations, and document data pipelines.
• Drive development of data products in collaboration with data scientists and analysts. Automate reporting where possible to make team more efficient.
• Understand end to end nature of data lifecycles to deliver high quality data and debug data concerns.
• Maintain data and software traceability through GitHub.

Education:
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field
This is a 1st shift position with 40 hours in week, Hybrid role.
Pay range for this role is 45.00 - 51.00 per hour. (Pay offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.)
