Job Description

Our client is a leading dairy manufacturer for the Food and Beverage industry across North America.


They also continue to invest heavily in the development of new products and responding to consumer demands and are experiencing fantastic growth due to a number of key brand acquisitions. They are seeking an experienced and driven Operations Manager to lead one of their key business units across the plant.


This role is based in North West, United States On-site and there is a financial relocation package to help with the relocation.


The Role


Key Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with Maintenance on a variety of issues related to equipment and plant maintenance.
  • Participate in customers audits.
  • Works closely with the Production Planner to ensure employee schedule is accurate and PTO/time off is being managed as per company policy.
  • Monitors floor activities in the department by checking machine speeds, adjusting equipment as necessary, and troubleshooting for the packaging workers on the lines.
  • Key contributor to the ISO 22000 implementation. Ensure the sustainability of the food safety programs in the department.
  • Analyzes and evaluates information concerning daily operations and how these results positively or negatively affect department performance.
  • Uphold all rules pertaining to confidentiality of information regarding Lactalis products, recipes, and employee information.
  • Works closely with Quality Control Manager and Laboratory personnel on a wide variety of areas including quality of raw materials, product specifications, and good manufacturing and sanitation practices.
  • Hires and evaluates staff/department performance; recommends and initiates training, development, communication, and discipline, as appropriate.
  • Participates in operating budget, goals, and objectives of the department and works toward meeting and/or exceeding these expectations.


Key Requirements:

  • Extensive experience with operations and people management.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy driven profile type.
  • Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written in negotiation, facilitation, report preparation and conflict resolution.
  • Minimum 6 years' experience in Food industry, ideally with a minimum of 3 in the Dairy industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and plan workflow, set priorities and meet deadlines in a project and contract management context.
  • Experience with OSHA, USDA, HACCP rules and regulations.
