Cybersecurity Engineer

The client is a rapidly growing company who is looking for experienced Cybersecurity Engineers to lead the development effort for new cybersecurity appliances. This is an opportunity to leverage your network security, cyber threat hunting, and programming experience. You will work with a collaborative team to develop prototypes and transition them into state of the art production cybersecurity tools!

If you have hands-on experience with network security and are looking for a challenging yet rewarding role in delivering intrusion detection and Advanced Persistent Threat detection tools, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Please note this is an onsite position. Candidates must be able to work in the client’s Montgomery County, MD area office.

As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will:

• Design, develop, and test network cybersecurity appliances
• Develop network packet processing software for use on high volume networks
• Research machine learning models to find innovative solutions to detecting network intrusions and to counter Advanced Persistent Threats
• Perform test driven development of Threat Hunting tools

Position requirements:

• Experience working with network analysis and packet inspection tools (Wireshark, etc.)
• Onsite position - work onsite at client’s Montgomery County, MD area office
• In depth knowledge of networking, protocols, and data communications
• 5+ years of network security, cyber threat hunting, and programming experience
• Hands-on Python, C/C++, or Java experience
• Cyber threat hunting and threat intelligence experience
• Linux and Windows system and networking experience
• US Citizen
• Test driven development along with CI/CD pipeline and containerization experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Network emulation experience
