Job Description

GEICO's Cyber Threat Intelligence/Threat Hunting Team is looking for a highly motivated, confident, decisive, experienced Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst. As a member of CTI/Threat Hunting, you will be focused on delivering timely, accurate, and focused intelligence on relevant threats to GEICO, insurance industry and Berkshire subsidiaries. Provide support to security operations by researching and analyzing threat actor TTPs that are used cyber-attacks. Monitor and report on current and emerging threats including exploitable vulnerabilities, and details of those vulnerabilities.

Position Responsibilities:

As a Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst, you will:

  • Provide information and assessments for the purposes of informing leadership and other business units.
  • Support SIRT with cyber security investigation and incident handling by providing actionable intelligence and additional context as needed.
  • Produce timely, fused, all-source cyber operations and strategic intelligence products.
  • Research and monitor for current cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and other cyber related activities that could pose a threat to GEICO and Berkshire subsidiaries.
  • Assist in the coordination, validation, and management of all-source collection requirements.
  • Produce timely notice of potential cyber attacks/threats or activities which may impact the business operations, objectives, resources, or capabilities.
  • Respond to ad-hoc request, research, and assist with other business units as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to analysis large sets of data.
  • Ability to produce technical documentation, such as Visio flows and processes.
  • Understanding of enterprise detection technologies and processes (EDR, IDS/IPS, Network security appliance and etc).
  • Ability to follow complex instructions, resolve conflicts or facilitate conflict resolution, and have strong organization / priority setting skills.
  • Solid understanding of networking, operating systems, and cyber security controls.
  • Experience with creating and maturing intelligence reports and briefings.
  • Excellent understanding of intelligence handling, dissemination, supporting and lifecycle within a security organization.
  • Ability to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information, and to follow published standards and processes.
  • Knowledge of common tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP) used by attackers and methods.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to understand complex problems while presenting them simplistically in a formal setting.
  • Knowledge and experience working frame works such as Pyramid of Pain, Diamond Model, Kill Chain, and MITRE ATT&CK framework.
  • Comprehensive familiarity of Domain Tools, VirusTotal, Maltego, and Threat Intelligence Platform (TIP).
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and provide briefs.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of working in a Cyber Threat Intelligence Team

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience

Certifications:

  • Security+
  • GREM
  • GIAC Cyber Threat Intelligence (GCTI)

Annual Salary

$70,000.00 - $185,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
