Full Description
This position will oversee the customer's freight through tracing and tracking. Maintain contact with the airlines, trucking companies and any agents that will be handling the freight to ensure shipper and consignees are aware of any problems.
Duties
  • Balances team and individual responsibilities; exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views.
  • Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
  • Ensure service completion and provide proof of delivery.
  • Perform various data management tasks - enter shipment data in system; prepare rates and invoice House Air Waybills; run sales reports, maintain and file reports.
  • Responds promptly and professionally to customer needs.
  • Manage customer support by responding to and handling all daily customer service requests. Notify customers of any delays in shipping and dispatching points. Prepare and assist with quotes for customers.
  • Manages complex transactional or emotional customer situations promptly and professionally meeting commitments for service and assistance.
  • Process pick-up requests and enter data in the system.
Skills
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications. Accurate typing skills and/or data entry skills. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using units of U.S. currency, weight, volume and distance measurements.
  • Relevant experience MUST include cartage, transportation, moving companies, customer service, logistics, linehaul, intermodal, warehouse, ground operations, and dispatching air and ocean service.
  • Trinium a + or TMS - Port Pro
  • Characteristics: Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine correspondence. Responds promptly and professionally to customer needs. Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
Responsibilities
  • Manage shipments from origin to final destination to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Relay customer inquiries to the appropriate departments and provide the customer answers
  • Provide shipment updates to clients including location tracing, pickup numbers, estimated time of arrivals, and last free day notices
  • Validate and confirm all ocean/trucking/rail/air shipment bookings
  • Manage daily emails/phone calls from customers and other OEC offices regarding shipment details
  • Use daily customer service reports to ensure all release requirements have been met before containers arrive at their final destination
  • Build customer relationships and provide excellent customer service
Hourly Pay Range - $22 - $24 hr.
