Job Description

  • 10 years of experience in sales engineering roles.
  • Experience delivering technical presentations while leading detailed discovery and planning sessions that are aligned jointly with the customer.
  • Experience with database technologies and database administration techniques/tools covering in one of the following: availability and disaster recovery, data migrations, or performance optimization.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience with data migration strategies and moving large-scale production systems either in on-premise/data center environments or migration to cloud scenarios and SQL skills with query troubleshooting.
  • Experience addressing a complex customer’s existing software workloads, with the ability to define a technical migration roadmap to the Google Cloud.
  • Experience with Relational Databases, NoSQL Databases, and/or Big Data technologies and containers.
  • Experience with Disaster Recovery (DR) and data backup strategies.
  • Experience with optimizing database performance with respect to transactional and/or analytic workloads.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

As a Customer Engineer, you will work with technical Sales teams as an enterprise hybrid cloud subject matter expert to differentiate and paint the vision of Google Cloud to our customers. You will help prospective customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud, explain technical features, help customers design architectures, engage in proof of concepts, and troubleshoot potential roadblocks.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $139,000-$213,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
  • Manage the technical relationship with Google’s customers, including managing product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of additional technical resources.
  • Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution using best practices on Google Cloud.
  • Work to identify and qualify business opportunities, identify key customer technical objections, and develop a strategy to resolve technical blockers.
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as required.
  • Work with customers to demonstrate and prototype Google Cloud product integrations, guide customers through assessments of their existing legacy application environment(s), provide recommendations on a prioritization roadmap for application modernization, and identify applications for migration to hybrid-cloud computing models.
