Job Description
Position: CROSSING GUARD (part-time & substitute positions available) Effective Date: June 28, 2023 - o pen until filled Department: Police Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt & Substitute, Non-Exempt Wage: $14.00/hour Position Summary This position reports to the Crossing Guard Supervisor. Assists pedestrians and school children in safely crossing city streets. Schedule: Monday-Friday (Compensated for 1.5 hours per shift, 3 hours total per day) Morning Hours: 8:10 AM - 8:55 AM* Afternoon Hours: 3:10 PM - 3:55 PM* (Early out days - hours may vary) *School District schedule changes may affect these hours. Benefits are not offered with this position. Qualifications Education and Experience:
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and communicate effectively verbally. Tools and Equipment Handheld stop sign, safety vest, and traffic cones (provided). Typical Duties
  • Controls traffic at school crossing intersection.
  • Assists school children in safely crossing City streets on their way to and from school.
  • Working knowledge of safety rules and regulations in assisting children in crossing streets preferred.
  • No education or experience is required.
  • Follows safety rules and regulations while performing duties. Selection Guidelines Formal application; reference check, interview.
