The Guidance Center (TGC) is currently seeking a Mental Health Crisis Stabilization Therapist to be the newest member of our innovative interdisciplinary team. TGC is a Community Mental Health Center serving Leavenworth, Atchison, and Jefferson counties in Kansas. The Crisis Stabilization Charge Case Manager will function as a shift lead Case Manager, providing direction to Case Managers and Mental Health Tech’s in consultation with Clinic Director and QMHP. This individual will coordinate the admission of clients, and initiate and execute discharge planning, as appropriate. They will act as a liaison, communicating as needed to the care providers and involved agencies. This is a 24/7 operation, with current shift availability weekday evenings and weekends; holidays will be required.

The Crisis Stabilization Charge Case Manager will function as a shift lead Case Manager, providing direction to Case Managers and Mental Health Tech’s in consultation with Clinic Director and QMHP. This individual will coordinate the admission of clients, and initiate and execute discharge planning, as appropriate. They will act as a liaison, communicating as needed to the care providers and involved agencies. This is a 24/7 operation, with current shift availability weekday evenings and weekends; holidays will be required.
Responsibilities For Crisis Stabilization Charge Case Manager
- Provide support to other providers both in and out of the office, as well as provide support to other community entities dealing with a client in crisis and needing the assistance of crisis stabilization services.
- Make follow-up calls to consumers who fail to show for post crisis follow-up appointments or who may be needing extra contact to effectively cope with a current crisis.
- After a QMHP has completed an evaluation, assist in coordinating access to the appropriate level of care.
- Will provide individual, group, and family services with clients.
- Collaborate with other team members and other outside providers in the coordination of appropriate services.
- Will help maintain the inner workings of the Crisis Stabilization Center which includes but not limited to, general care and support of consumers, daily operations, and housekeeping of the unit.
- Gather information about the client via phone or face to face and refer to the appropriate resource to handle the problem, such as a same day appointment with a licensed therapist, emergency room at local hospital, same day appointment at local office, welfare checks, diagnostic evaluation, etc.
Qualifications for Crisis Stabilization Charge Case Manager
- Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Human Service field preferred. Equivalent work experience in the human services field, or a combination of work experience in the human services field and education, with one year of experience substituting for one year of education, may be considered.
- Valid Driver's License and proof of auto insurance.
- Minimum of one year experience in program management or supervision of staff.
- Two year volunteer or paid experience working with individuals in the community.
